with Lion & The Caveman

Join Lion and the Caveman in Bali along with friends and fellow Acro coaches Courtney Julia and Devin DeAngelis, for a fully inclusive AcroYoga retreat that will give you the chance to up your Acro game as well as feel rested and renewed.

You will be offered a plethora of opportunities to move, connect, restore and play. We’ll have a schedule full of activities including AcrOlympics, jungle excursions, yoga classes, and Thai massage. In addition to movement, we will lead a social justice seminar that will empower you with conversations and techniques to bring stronger foundations of advocacy and inclusivity to your community back home.

The stunning setting in the hills of Ubud will allow us to experience fresh local food and amazing jungle scenery, while we forge connections with people from all over the world.

Some of the Benefits:

Daily we will have opportunities to move, train, reflect, and grow. The mornings will be left open for silent reflection, meditation and/or journaling. We will share meals together which will include intentionally led conversations on important topics. Each night we will lead Thai massage classes to wind down, when everyone will be given an opportunity to give and receive body work

Retreat Leaders

Kimo Frederiksen, Acro Lion

– Narrated by the Acro Caveman –

Kimo is a human of many talents. Such talents range from expert coffee maker, master of sass, and something that has been coined only as: “Fart Machine.”

In addition to the aforementioned talents, Kimo is one of the kindest, most inclusive, and passionate people you will ever meet. His deeply rooted understanding of movement is incomparable to any teacher you’ve ever met. With over a decade worth of coaching and training experience, this man is sure to expand your perception of what you’re capable of. He is the owner and head trainer at True Body Fitness in Detroit, Michigan, and leads the acro community in Detroit along with me, Bryan Caveman Bennett.

Bryan Bennett, Acro Caveman

– Narrated by the Acro Lion –

Bryan was born doing handstands. This was a challenge for his parents since he was such a gassy infant. Later on in life, he harnessed his flatulent factory and created an energy source like no other. The higher beings came down to give him a powerful gift as a trade for his renewable energy source, and that was a gift of Acro. He has since passed that gift on to us mere mortals.

On a serious note, Bryan is a certified level 1 & 2 AcroYoga teacher. He teaches weekly acro classes in Detroit along with me, the Acro Lion. He is also a full-time yoga instructor and has lead multiple retreats in Costa Rica. If that doesn’t make him the coolest, he is also certified in Thai massage. Don’t discount the first paragraph you read about my personal favorite, Bryan…he sure is a stinker!

Courtney Julia, Driftingmaple

– Narrated by Devin –

Could we really describe someone like Courtney in such a small paragraph? Let’s get the credentials down and out of the way from the start. Courtney is an Acro Revolution teacher and has experience as an Icarian coach for Pitch Catch School of Acrobatics. She has a training and movement background as a varsity rower and her commitment to the process of training shows in everything she does. This powerhouse of an acrobat and wonderful human has hundreds (possibly thousands) of hours of training under the eye of incredible and renowned coaches.
This girl walks the walk and is so incredibly humble as she shares the talk. Her teaching style is analytical yet personal. In my time knowing Courtney I have seen her develop and flower even more into someone that can watch students and give just the right cue that is needed while still allowing personal discovery.

Devin DeAngelis, Acro.devin

– Narrated by the Courtney –

Devin Richard Lips Michaelangelo DeAngelis really knows how to have a long nickname. He has recently finished building a van and is now embarking on the most instagram-worthy life he can imagine. If it’s not on the ‘gram, did it even happen? In reality, Devin is a super centered, down to earth human (mostly because he is the one in the partnership most often connected to the ground). With a certification from both AcroRevolution and LIFT School of Acrobatics, he has gained experience coaching at Pitch Catch School of Acrobatics and teaching around the world. He promotes building new skills and partnerships from the ground up and puts a strong focus on the foundational skills of any practice. Devin is a strong believer that technique is more important than proportions, and that even high level acrobatics can be accessible to any size base and flyer.
